Get on a bike and explore the SNFCC

A short-term bicycle rental service is operating within the complex called the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center Bikes. They offer 50 bikes that are available at three different bike stations throughout the SNFCC: the Visitors Center, the Agora, and the Rear Agora. At the visitor center, you can also find 25 kids’ bikes. All bikes have headlights, taillights, baskets, and safety locks.

Performances at the Greek National Opera

The Greek National Opera’s new building has rejuvenated the institution and quickly brought it to the forefront of the cultural scene of Athens. There are numerous performances taking place there every month by both classical and contemporary composers.

How to get to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center

• By the SNFCC Shuttle Bus

There is a minibus that runs from Syntagma Square directly to the entrance of the SNFCC with only a single stop at the Syggrou-Fix metro station. You can recognize it by the SNFCC logo.

You can find the timetable for the shuttle bus for weekdays and weekends here.

Keep in mind that on Sundays, from 10 am to 1 pm the shuttle bus departs from Syggrou Fix metro station rather than Syntagma Square due to the ceremony of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

• By Bus or by Metro & Bus

You can take buses B2 or 550 from the Syggrou-Fix metro station to reach the “Onasseio” stop on Syggrou Avenue. From there, you can reach Evripidou street and the entrance to the SNFCC simply by walking towards the sea until you find the main junction.

• By Tram

Starting from Syntagma Square, get on the tram and get off at the “Tzitzifies” stop. Then, walk down Peisistratou street and find the corner where it meets Sahtouri street. You will be able to see one of the entrances to the SNFCC right next to the parking lot.

• By Car

Reaching the SNFCC by car is quite easier than it may sound. You can get there via Syggrou Avenue if you are departing from the downtown of Athens or via Poseidonos Avenue if you are departing from the southern suburbs. Either way, you will find many signs along the road that will point you in the right direction.
